Johannis, it's all about the vineyards... our vineyards in the unique wine-growing village of Kurdějov. We create our wines with the utmost respect and sensitivity to their origin. We try to understand our vineyards. To perceive the seemingly small differences and then to learn how to make the best use of this knowledge when creating wines from our grapes. We are convinced that this is the right way to create the best, but most importantly, unique wines.

Kurdějov. A picturesque village nestled in a deep valley in the southernmost tip of the Ždánický Forest, where the time-forgotten art of winemaking is coming to life again. After decades, newly planted vines have found a home on the slopes of Kurdějov to reveal the richness of the local soil. To the south-east, the steep slopes gently ease and open up, allowing the warm winds from the south to flow in and help the grapes to ripen and protect them from disease. Over time, the fertile soil of the sloping vineyards has slid down into the valley. The soil of the vineyards is thus poor, overlain from above by loamy-sandy or calcareous loess, under which lie soft rocks of calcareous sandstone.

Each wine has a completely individual approach in the vineyard and subsequently the winery. Our wine is first created with a firm idea and a clear vision of what the result should be and what we want to convey. We strive to exploit the strengths of the individual grape varieties combined with the unique terroir of our vineyards to achieve their unique symbiosis in our wines.
